BizTraveller 101 Posted October 5, 2012 They save me sometimes. As I transitioned back to normal life after surgery, I found out there were lots of days where I couldn't take the time to feed myself properly. I keep a couple of good-quality Protein bars handy. I like the Quest bars. They have really good numbers. Many of the others are pretty bad. Most days I do fine on real food (no shakes or bars). But, someways you can't build your life around your sleeve and thence bars come in handy. Sent from my iPad using VST 1 TES reacted to this
It's all new 453 Posted October 7, 2012 Protein bars generally have too many carbs as far as I'm concerned. Even shopping around for those with the fewest - I've never found one that worked. I think eating unprocessed food is usually a better option when possible. For those times when you are on the go and have no options, or when you need the extra carbs before an intense workout then I think it is worth it. Then again, I'm a low carb kind of girl because I think it is more effective - other people don't feel the same way. I have found that beef Jerky is a great option for when I am on the go and don't have the option of having my regular meal - I weigh it ahead of time into individual servings. Good luck. Lissa 2,631 Posted October 8, 2012 I have a Premier Protein bar most mornings for Breakfast. It's a red letter day for me when I end up with the Yogurt Crunch flavor! 1 TES reacted to this

Lissa 2,631 Posted October 8, 2012 Sams carries the Premier Protein bars. I don't know about costco, but I've heard that they have them.
Ready4success 380 Posted October 8, 2012 Sams carries the Premier Protein bars. I don't know about Costco' date=' but I've heard that they have them.[/quote'] I just went yesterday to get the shakes. The carbs and sugars aren't too bad in the bars? I get cleared to start lifting this week, and I notice that I usually have to leave the gym after cardio because I get so hungry. I usually drink 1/2 a Protein shake before my workout, which is usually an hour and a half. The bars may keep me fuller. I'm diabetic, so I try to stay on top of the carbs and sugars. 1 TES reacted to this

cindymg 629 Posted October 29, 2013 I eat one Atkins Protein Bar a day, usually in the afternoon when my blood sugar is low. They are high in Protein and contain no sugar. I usually eat the chocolate oatmeal Fiber bar because in addition to protein, I am on a continual Quest for fiber. 1 TES reacted to this
