Yup, is it a thick saliva? It happens to me when I don't chew enough or I eat too fast.

I am constantly salivating. It isn't thick and it isn't while im eating. Im just constantly salivating :/ I keep thinking im starving and I think it has to do with the saliva out put. Im a week out today. How far are you out cuaya? and has this happen to anyone else?

I did anything like that when food disagreed with me, or I ate too much - rarely, thank goodness.

are you on any meds? When you lose weigh, go through trauma or illness, etc...yo ucan experience side effects with medications you did not experience before.

Going to hit 2 years out i less than 2 months and it still bugs me, although it's not as bad as it once was it's still there.

For me it's a thick foamy spit accompanied by tiny little "beads" of something that I can roll around in my cheeks, almost like a tiny un-popable bubble.

I'm not sure what causes it or what a cure may be.

I thought it was just me, I hate it, it keeps me nauseous and I have a constant bad taste in my mouth. Smells also bother me I hate the smell of my house, even the plug ins make me nauseous, is this normal.

Definitely not just you, I really was hoping there was some type of cure for it but maybe its just a side effect of the surgery :/

For me this lasted for around 1 1/2 to 2 months. I did not go out a lot and when I did I always carried lots of paper towels and baggies as I just could not swallow all that saliva without getting sick. I still get the slimes if I eat too fast, too rich too dry or take one bite too many. Sleeved May 17, 2012. Have lost 122 pounds total, 54 pre-op and 68 post surgery. Have dropped 5 pants sizes from a 32 to 22 and in shirts have gone from a 4 X to a 1X or 2X depending on brand. Best of all stopped bp meds, diabetes meds, cardiac meds, some asthma meds and and Cpap machine. I can walk without back pain and severe shortness of breath. I feel better than I have in many years. I had lots of complications post surgery including damage to my airway, collapsed lung, urinary tract infection, anemiia requiring 2 units of blood and a mal formed sleeve which resulted a 9 day hospital stay. The malformed sleeve left me unable to swallow even liquids in sufficient quantities to prevent chronic severe dehydration requiring weekly trips to my surgeons ofice for IV fluids. After 4 endoscopic stretches I am doing pretty well and in spite of earlier regrets and times when I can't eat more than a couple bites and occasionally vomiting my meals, I am very happy that I had this surgery. Today I went to a fair walked more than I have in many years and didn't eat anything. I feel great about that. Sorry so long winded.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
