jib 8 Posted October 4, 2012 I haven't cheated, but I'm worried I'm eating too much. I can have unlimited amount of non starch vegetables. But I feel I'm taking the word"unlimited"too far. I obviously have Portion Control issues, that's why I'm getting the surgery. I'm assuming they know that when they gave me the instructions. I Just want my liver to shrink and to lose some weight to help my chances. Everybody has such different pre op diets, and most are all liquid.< /p>
Izuri 428 Posted October 4, 2012 Do you measure out your foods? Maybe measuring and recording would help you stay on track. If you feel like you're taking the word unlimited too far, then maybe you already know what points you have your downfalls at. I doubt that you are getting in enough veggies to really be way too much physically, but if you're fueling your food addiction, implement strategies to curb this. Post pictures on your fridge of what a normal portion looks like and force yourself to stick to that. Drink a full glass of Water before you eat to help fill you up. You can do it! PdxMan 4,292 Posted October 4, 2012 They know what they are doing. I had a lean and green pre-op diet. Protein shake for Breakfast and one for lunch. For dinner, lean Protein with green veggies. As much as I wanted. My usual fare was a salad. My protein was either tuna, shrimp or chicken. Ah, and ground turky with taco seasoning, ala taco salad.< /p> I would pile on the cucumbers, carrots, tomatoes, broccoli, cauliflower. Whilst most of those aren't green, I asked my NUT about them and she said that was fine. And I'm not talking about a salad bowl size, either. Full on humongo bowl. Did this for 2 weeks, was pretty much always comfortable. I was allowed an additional shake if I got hungry. Lost 10 pounds and the Dr said my liver looked great and was easy to work with. jib 8 Posted October 4, 2012 Thanks for your responses. I'm glad to hear someone else was on the same pre op as me. And you made me realize my fear. I'm not suffering, so I was worried I'm doing it wrong. Words like unlimited and free when it comes to food.....Um I don't feel my 105 lb Dr. knows what that could look like. I'm half way there, week from today I'll be full after a few Oz! Can't wait. Sent from my Galaxy ll using VST
