Ok First Mushy Meat What Did I Do Wrong.

Recommended Posts

Ok today was my first day on mushys. Eat Greek yogurt for Breakfast. Also for lunch with some Tomato Soup everything was good. My wife fixed a pork tenderloin no fat very juicy and tender. I took my 3.5oz and ground it up in a blender till it was mush. I was able to take two bites very small and slow it was very moist and delicious but after the second bite it felt like it got stuck. Very painfull for almost an hour. I broke down and tried to wash it down with Water and no change it just hurt I never eat anymore . What did I do wrong or is this normal I've been sleeved since 9/19 and have followed to the tee.

From what I've learned so far (not sleeved yet, but reading EVERYTHING), pork and beef come along later on since they are harder to digest. Soft fish and poultry should be easier at this point. Of course, your dietician's suggestions should supercede anything you read here, but maybe try some lighter meats.< /p>

It can be trial and error...that stuck feeling really is terrible. You didn't mention the size of your mouthful. Even ground, too big a mouthful will get stuck...it gets better though. Try keeping your mouthfuls to the size of your thumbnail. Let it go down and try another in 3 minutes.

Actually each bite of the two was about a quarter tea spoon. I was trying to play it safe. Didn't work though.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
