Fantastic transformation!! This is what its all about! We feel the change happening but when we see our befores and afterwards' date=' we feel it in our hearts too! Your doing such a great job! And your so beautiful! Congratulations! You have inspired me to now take before pics. Wasn't going to do it, even after family and friends begged saying "you'll never be this size again, there can't be a do-over for a before pic". I never felt the desire. Seeing your transformation has changed my mind. Thank you![/quote']

Well thank you! I think before and after pictures are very important. For me, it is the realization of my actions, of how bad I let it progress, and the steps I had to take to correct my own actions. It was taking responsibility, stopping all the denial, and accepting what I had become. The afters were more for affirmation that I made the correct decision to improve my health. I highly, strongly urge everyone to take pictures pre-op because there will be days that you beat yourself up because the scale won't move or goes in the wrong direction. Remember to have patience, continue to follow your weight loss team's advice, and pull pictures out to show your progress. It's a huge dose of reality! Even if you hate looking at them!

Wow..... Pipula... you've done an outstanding job. A huge difference. So we all know now that you look amazing... but how do you feel? Being only 6 days post op now... I don't have much energy, but I am sure that will change as i get adjusted and eventually be able to eat food. How has this changed your life? Do you have more energy, you more active, etc? I'm interested in hearing your perspective.

Again... congrats on the weight loss thus far.

Thank you SML1997! To answer your questions: I feel sooooo much better than I did prior to surgery! I had high blood pressure, my joints hurt, unable to breath well....I think you can see the sadness in my eyes in that pre-op picture. I no longer have blood pressure problems. I can walk pain free and without losing my breath. In fact, my daughter who weighs 91# asked for a piggy back ride..and I thought to myself "my goodness..how did I ever carry this weight around..no wonder my body was revolting against my decisions to eat and not exercise the way I did". So yes..I feel a million times better, I feel better, sleep better, am a better mother, wife, lover, and friend. As far as being weak..that takes time. I had a complication with my surgery ( a small hematoma) so for me the energy levels weren't up to par until 8 weeks out..exercise had to wait to, but I did do Yoga and short walks because the hematoma was very painful! It gets better. I am currently working on the Ease into 5k app. If you would have told me that I would be jogging 6 months after my surgery, I would have called you a liar! As far as this has changed my life, well that is a given. There are so many little things that have happened in my life that I wasn't able to do that I don't know if I have the space to list them all here! Chairs! Being able to go to any room and sit where ever I like instead of scoping a room for the sturdier, bigger chair! That is one nsv that happens all the time and I am still amazed by it. Shopping in regular stores, being able to buy pants right off the rack without having to go to Lane Bryant for my pants. Airplanes...no more staring at me to see if they can charge an extra ticket..seat belt extenders..a thing of the past. Playing a board game in the floor with my daughter doesn't hurt anymore! My daughter hugging me and being able to touch her hands together. My husband hugging me and being able to touch his elbows while doing it.. Jogging..wow I can jog! My bills for medicine is lower, my food bill is lower...I have more money in my pocket! The list goes on and on. Once you turn the corner, and start to feel better from your surgery, you can have it too! Just reach out and grab it. Use the tool you have been given, and you will be right here soon too! I am only half way up the mountain and my task is getting harder, but it's ok because I have the tools in place, a fantastic, supportive family, and I have all of you out there to help me when I fall. So to answer your question: yeah..life is way better! Did I regret the decision- you bet for the first 72 hours after it was over, but it got better with each passing day. Now..ask me if I regret it....heck no! Would do it again a thousand times over just to get myself back again!!!! Congrats on your surgery, it is life altering. Good luck to you...the possibilities will be endless!

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
