Tail Bone Pain

Recommended Posts

Does anyone else have tailbone pain since losing weight? I have lost around 71 pounds and my butt bone is really starting to hurt.

YES! I definitely have this issue from time to time. It almost feels as though I go through adjustment periods after enough losses have occurred. There have been times when even the comfiest of seats have not been enough to prevent me from feeling discomfort. There have been some killer car rides.

Right now, I think that I have adjusted to the current array of padding on my posterior.

At times, I wonder, "how can thin people stand sitting down?" But I guess that they're just used to it and it is different for those of us who are adjusting to having less padding. My mother-in-law is quite thin and has said that she has never had any pain. So, I really think that it is a matter of my body adjusting to the changes that it is experiencing. It will hopefully get better and better over time!

Yes, Yes, my spin session/bike ride at the gym is killing my tail bone lately. I also rubbed it raw while doing incline sit ups, ouchhhhh.

Same here, how do those skinny ass people do it anyhow :)

I fell off my bike TWICE and have really got it bad now. Time and pain relievers is what it's going to take. Padded bike shorts help on the bike, perhaps they'd help in your situation?

Same here. Used to have really big butt, now it's flatter than a flitter (whatEVER that is!). Can't even sit in a recliner very long!

Horrible pain, and I am not even skinny yet! I hope my little booty does adjust as we go along because I have a desk job also and right now i have a big pillow sitting on my office chair. It is so sad the butt & boobs are the first to go. :(

I sure do hate hearing this! I've had pretty bad tailbone pain for 8 mos. now and I haven't even been sleeved yet!! Ahhhhh! Haven't been able to ride my spin bike, or my horse much...hell, I can't even ride the recliner much either, constantly getting up and taking the pressure off. I think some chiropractic adjustment may be in my very near future

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
