Pookeyism 1,143 Posted October 2, 2012 So what now that I have reached one whole size goal, went into maintenance and decided to lose some more? I have become a nerd. It is true. I have entered the ranks of geekdom - but I am a proud spaz! I embrace it wholly. With that said, I wanted to take a moment and urge everyone to get out there and start doing the things you left behind - it was, to me, a most important thing. It reminded me of why this was all so important in the first place. Every Sunday, I dress up like a mideval warrior of some vague "Mordor"ish kind, and get out in a park in the middle of Houston and fight with foam-padded swords...and I do it for hours. I fight, I am good actually - I am getting faster and I am accurate and a "well earned kill" (or so I have been told). People frequently seem very suprised to get up close and realize I am a middle aged woman. If I tell them about the weight loss, they just seem stunned. I run and fall and jump and waive these swords around. I get bruised and out of breath and I love it, and it gets dark before we realize the day is done. I had not been able to do that in 15 years. I am a LARP geek, and I am proud! What is your most missed? Please, share! Get out there! if not now when? 6 Wildflower, enigmachik, Butterthebean and 3 others reacted to this

Frza 194 Posted October 2, 2012 There are some LARPers that meet in the park cross the street from my home. I enjoy watching them. Some are actually pretty agile! I have seen only males in that group, but maybe I need to look closer. Good for you! This seems to be a great way to get some good activity in. My surgeon says the best excercise is the one you enjoy doing
