Looked At Old Pictured

Recommended Posts

I Have been eating candy and other food that is not healthy and will cause me to gain weight. I was sleeved July 10, 2012 and have lost 50 pounds. Looking at my old pictures before surgery rinds me of why I had the surgery. I need to remember it is a slippery slope for me to eat sugary and fried food. I need to get back on track.

Oh please tell me that some of the cravings for sugar go away after surgery. I am hoping that I will not crave it so bad after my diabetes is gone Hopefully. Please get back on track. You don't want to be that heavy ever again. I hope I have the strength to do the same after surgery.

I saw this problem over the weekend. It's my TOM and I work long shifts. I ended up eating a lot of pretzels and I was so disappointed in myself. It was the old, mindless eating. I recommitted myself today.

try to focus on the journey that brought you here and don't let that work be for nothing.

I honestly don't think never should be in anyone's vocabulary because it will likely set you up for failure. If you deprive yourself, you may just lose control. But you need to think about the choices you make and exercise for the slips or treats you might allow yourself. try measuring sweets in a different unit. how many minutes of walking does one cookie equal? stuff like that.

I am in the same boat. I am so close to the 100s. I just keep sabotaging myself by eating a little nibble of junk here and there. Today I had chocolate milk. I got to quit it! I even felt gross after having it. Sugar does make me feel gross now. I am going to tell myself that next time I want something sweet.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
