Im new to lapband talk. i was banded in Feb of this year. only lost 36 since then, broke my leg 2 months ago and it really set me back not being able to do my exercise program. i feel that is an essential part of the transition in wt loss. hopefully i can get back on track after my ortho md releases me next week. i had a goal of 50 pounds by Christmas. still hope to get there. it is slow losing as i am hypothyroid and i am 51, but i dont give up hope. dont want to be fat anymore.

Welcome to the forum.

Slow but steady wins the race.

A goal is something nice when it is achieved, but a goal must never be allowed to instill a feeling of failure. If you do not make your goal by Christmas, then allow reaching your goal to be your Valentine's Day reward. :clap2:

Welcome Kaydee,

The good thing is that you know what you need to do, once you have the ok, to exercise. Heal properly, then get back on track. Above all, don't give up hope. :biggrin1:

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
