So mad at myself!!! I have done nothing but, snack since I got the ok to eat... Want to kick myself today but, gonna dust myself off and I am making myself get back on the saddle. I was so sick of the mushy liquids and went a little crazy. I can't eat much but, what I ate was junk... It wasn't like I was hungry I just wanted to eat. Gonna have to treat myself like a heroin addict and one day at a time it. Hi my name is Brandy and I am a food junkie. Today will be my first day clean since my binge on Chinese food.

Have the "right" foods on hand at all times, ready to eat, simple, etc. You can do it. You went through too much to graze on bad foods.

Getting in a habit of eating high quality Proteins in 2-3 oz servings every 3 hours will help. I pretty much only eat Protein and never have the urge to graze. Also drinking often helps.

Can I make a suggestion? Start journaling all your food. I use an app called My Net Diary. Keeps up wit everything I eat. When you see what you are doing its easier to control.

That might help.

....or My Fitness Pal....like EVERYONE else on this forum except OTR Sleever. He is a lone wolf.

My wife uses MFP, so I can't use it. She would blow up my inbox.

Billyvmom I kind of don't understand? You have been sleeved but you binged on chinese food? How is this possible I can barely eat 2-4 oz at a time and then am full for hours.

Stay away from that garbage, eat Protein, journal your food, get out of the house: go for a walk. Have things ready to do instead of eat, I know you have heard it before but it works!!

My binge was a few bites of crab Rangoon , half a dumpling, and a few bites of teriyaki ck. the problem is I did this a few times over the weekend and it's a slippery slope. Getting out of the house is hard due to all the blood clot drama and nonstop dr visits. So when I was given the ok I caved I am starting over and have done good today and have dinner planned out tilapia and steamed veggies. Just have to keep going!!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
