WOW, such good work!! I started the same weight as you and just had surgery sept 27th. I hope I will be as succesful as you have been. I am curious, have you followed the meal plan exactly as the surgeon gave you? Are there any things you have been doing that has made you so succesful?

I agree, you truly are an inspiration! My life begins next Thursday 10/11/12- I have hospital Pre-op tomorrow. I was getting really nervous (losing sleep, palpitations, the works!) as the day stays nearer. Your positive experience and awesome results was just the post I needed to get back on my positive thinking track. Thanks so much! Keep up the good work. Can you give us newbies any tips! God bless!

Mine is 10/11/12 too! Reading this post makes my fear and anxiety fade. Makes me exited again and remember why I sighed on for this. So happy for you. Congrats!

Congratulations on your success. Sometimes it is hard to read all the complaints and complications and how others say they hate their decision and regret their surgery. It's very un motivating but thankfully you posted great results.

Good luck, JJB! Positive energy and prayers being sent your way and to all of us being "reborn" on 10/11/12! I'm sooo excited- the days are going by too fast! My dr has us stay 2 nights, how long do you have to stay in? I'm hoping I can be released earlier, if all goes well (and it will!) my mom is insisting on flying here (NY) from Florida to "take care of me"! Cute and adorable but she's staying until November!!! I can't eat so I told her, great you can cook for the family and help with housework (my daughters are 17 and 18, they help too).... I can't eat. I can't drink. I can't smoke (if I did, I don't!) good times, good times! It's just she tends to repeat stories over and over - even when you say I know, you already told me (who had what ailment/disease, who died....after all, she lives in an over 55 retirement community!) Say an extra prayer for my patience!! 

Thanks everyone....it means so much to me that my words and results are encouraging. I know it's scary in the beginning and during pre-op, but it is so worth it in just a few months down the road. Life is new and different. I have found a new joy for life that had been buried beneath all that weight. I am really a "new" me. As far as tips go, its ruff for the first couple of weeks mentally more than physically. Or atleast it was for me. Just know that will pass and it does get better. Obey your surgeons rules. Sip Water constantly and walk, walk, walk. Good luck to u all.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
