So I'm getting my surgery on 10/10 and I'm kind of worried because the man I'm with doesn't think in going to be as skinny as I think. I knows he's a chaser and thinks he'll love me skinny, but I don't think he will. What should I do?

You need to remember why you are doing this...skinny or not...what is the reason for you going through with this procedure?? Is this procedure for you or for him? You need to be more secure in yourself sweetie....if he decides to leave once you lose weight, that's his business....dont let that affect him....

Get ready for a huge change, I read that 80% of relationships fail after Gastric surgery. If your relationship was weak before the surgery it will be worst. Why? because you feel like you no longer have to settle because you are now HOT and available. If you were skinny before you got fat and stayed together then it is a different story/outcome, you guys have a chance. I wish you good luck but according to the statistic it won't last....Tell me how it works out.

You should learn to love you first and foremost! If he leaves you because of your new size then he can kick rocks because he clearly wasn't the right one for you. Love is blind, it doesn't see the numbers on a scale :-) When you love you, no matter what the numbers say, others will love you too! Keep your head up sugar and don't worry about the what if's. All we have is the here and now, tomorrow isn't promised and yesterday is history....you remember that, ok? And keep us posted! All the uplifting thoughts and energies I have are being sent your way. {{{HUGS}}}

I can tell you my experience I have had guys chasing me but after I lost weight they are no longer interested because they are chasers but I know that I did the surgery for me

I had to do it for health reasons. I feel so much better after I lost the weight my blood pressure is normal no meds my feet ankles and knees don't hurt I have more energy I sleep a lot better

If someone wants me they want me for who I am not what I look like fat or skinny.

Thanks James! I needed to be healthy and some chasers are kind of gross. My partner says he's afraid I may die from a heart attack or something so he wants me to lose the weight I just don't know how it'll be lol.

      Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
      1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

        All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

      I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
