Just had my initial consultation - initially went in thinking lap band but the more I think about it - I think it will have to be the gastric sleeve. I am a male 43 6ft 290 lbs. I have been overweight my entire life have high blood pressure and high triglycerides and pre diabetes. Need to lose 30 before surgery. Does everyone use Optifast to lose the weight?

Good luck on your journey and like yourself I started out thinking I wanted the Lapband! I am now 20 days post-op and glad I decided to go with the sleeve. My surgeon did not require opti-fast I just had to take Protein Shakes of my choice. However I heard that the opti-fast shakes were filling but expensive
