Is Something Wrong?

Recommended Posts

I can easily drink my 64 ounces of Fluid and get in my 80 g of Protein. Isopure in the glass bottles is how I get the Proteins and 40 ounces of fluid. I feel no discomfort when it comes to eating sugarfree Popsicles sugar free Jell-O sugar-free pudding and I was put on full liquid . I still have gas pain and abdomen pain. I'm starting to worry that maybe I'm doing something wrong or something wasn't done right. My surgery was on September 26

you really don't feel too much restriction until you move to food with more consistency.

Wow I am 20 days out and still don't get in 64oz and am full often to get in my two shakes. I know everyone is different but don't you feel any restriction or tighness when you consume your liquids?

I drink about one cup per hour. Milk fills me up but not Water. Don't get me wrong... I'm not hungry but I just thought drinking anything would make my stomach would feel so tight.

I do get all 64 oz of fluids in.

The Isopure in the Glass bottles hold 40 g of Protein and 20 ounces of Fluid each. So I add 20 ounces extra to that and it doesn't seem to bother me much. it does take me all day to drink it all . My doctor just called to check up on me and finally got cleared to take Gas-X strips and said that I'm doing great when it comes to doing my fluids and protein that way:)

My surgery was June 19th, and I've never had a problem getting in 75-90 ounces of liquid and 75-90 grams of Protein per day...regardless of the stage. Some days it took more effort, because I have no feeling of hunger, but it's been done.

I am now on pureed foods and I am finding it hard to get my Water in. I can never finish my supper (1/4 cup pureed chicken, 1/4 cup of carrots). I eat really slow but I get full before I can get my supper down. I am having great weight loss results. When I was just on liquids I always seemed hungry and never really satisfied...but now I get really full from eating very little.

It's working!

Wow I was sleeved on 9/27 and I am nowhere close to that. I can only drink a few sips of Protein, Water feels like I am swallowing a solid green been going down, and Jello is almost impossible. Maybe mine is too tight?

Don't worry I was the same way. I still don't do pudding and I never liked the consistency of the jello. I think that it is good to have restriction, part of it is your tummy is swollen and recovering from surgery. Everyday it gets better.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
