Justine13 264 Posted September 30, 2012 I'm soooo familiar with all the stalls. I am. Logically I do understand but here's my whiny story. Lost 14 pounds in one week and haven't lost a pound since. I'm almost to 3 weeks. I know that is great to lost that much - I do. Buttttttt I do weigh myself daily (if I don't I would get so upset at the shock no loss if I waited)- and I hardly take in 500-600 calories. How in te world is that even physically possible to hold steady for that long? Just frustrated and want to see the scale move. After living on a very select few foods- My brain just wants to eat badly (and I wont) as why the heck not if the darn scale isn't moving anyway. Ok- got that off my chest with people that understand. Thanks for any support .

Livinglifeout 217 Posted September 30, 2012 Stalls are just so frustrating. Hang in there, watch carbs, up exercise and quit weighing in so much. 1 Justine13 reacted to this
hellojello 4 Posted September 30, 2012 I'm in the same boat as well .. after 15 kg down only less than a month, i hit a stall. it has been 3 freaking weeks without me losing anything! even worst, I gained a kilo. i eat less than 900 calorie per day (all liquid based - cuz i have a problem with my ulcer so i'm still with liquid since my surgery which was on 17th august). Anyway .. the stall is made me pissed and i don't understand how can a person who eat that little, all liquid, end up gain a kilo . pfft ... i hope this over soon. 1 Justine13 reacted to this

Threetimesacharm 1,400 Posted September 30, 2012 I think the jury is still out on weighing everyday. Many that are at, or are near goal say that it keeps them on track so that if the do go up a few they can get it under control right away. Do what makes you feel good, the weight will come off just stay the course. 2 Justine13 and gigi4 reacted to this
NDN_RN 527 Posted September 30, 2012 The 500 to 700 cal diet may be too low and you may be in starvation mode, especially if you are burning 100 or more calories with exercise. Ramp the calories in the form of extra Protein, or a little fat for a day or two, see if that puts you back on the losing side. (Before I get flamed for not being a post op, I just know this from previous diet experience and what I read) Just Do It!!! 5 TamaraS, LessofKelly, Justine13 and 2 others reacted to this
robynluevano 85 Posted September 30, 2012 I am almost 4 weeks post op. lost 8 lbs preop, and 13 post op. I haven't lost but 1 lb since 9/15, and lost 3 lbs from 9/12-915. I understand this is normal, and I am just rolling with it. I do know that I am losing inches bc I had to pull some smaller pants out of the closet, and shirts that fit snug, are now much looser. I weigh myself only during the week, and only at work, I don't trust that scale as much though bc it was about 2 lbs more than the dr showed. 2 gigi4 and Justine13 reacted to this

klscott74 5 Posted September 30, 2012 I am almost 6 months out now and have had all the thoughts and frustrations described. I found if I got on the scale daily I would get more frustrated. I set up 1 day a week to check my progress and that seemed to help. My weight loss has dropped considerably over the past month but I know I am at the point that I will start leveling off. I also had a slow start and had a lot of expectations going in. Your body will catch up with the reduced calories as time goes on just stick to your program and you will see. The weight didn't come on overnight and it isn't going to come off that way either. 4 gigi4, Justine13, allnewme and 1 other reacted to this
ssriley 52 Posted September 30, 2012 I'm about 3 1/2 months post-op and have weighed every day and plotted my weight out of curiousity. You can see my stalls and even many weight gains, but the trend is always down. My intake averages 700-900 cals/day, get my exercise thru my job, (walk 1-2 miles/day) and includes an occasional mixed drink too (or two). Unless you're hitting the DQ drive-thru on a regular basis, the math says you are going to lose weight. Keep your eye on the prize and good luck.
