ashleytn 48 Posted September 29, 2012 My surgeon gave me an entire binder of information and post up diet stuff. There's examples of food for all stages except the puréed food. It only says "applesauce texture". Could someone please give me some exames?
SLEEVEDNBEAUTIFUL 42 Posted September 29, 2012 At that stage I can have all lean cuts of meat and poultry that are blended to Babyfood consistency. Boiled eggs, soft fat free cheese, thinned grits, oatmeal ,potatoes , Soft cooked veggies , Canned fruit in light or natural juice purred . No raw veggies or hard fruit. ashleytn 48 Posted September 29, 2012 Sounds like I might just stick with the full liquids and only add in boiled eggs, grits and potatoes. Pureeing meat doesn't sound good to me lol 2 4ALongerLife and IsB reacted to this

IsB 209 Posted September 29, 2012 Sounds like I might just stick with the full liquids and only add in boiled eggs, grits and potatoes. Pureeing meat doesn't sound good to me lol I know what you mean. Tough to eat that way when you have a mouth full of teeth. I have a feeling that hard boiled eggs will be on the menu a lot

Tonyswifey 9 Posted September 30, 2012 My nutritionist told me to just chew chew chew. U can get it in that texture without putting it in the blender. It is a lot easier to eat meat. She even said I can have sandwich meat. 1 VitaleEM reacted to this

IsaacsGram 58 Posted September 30, 2012 My doc sends you home on 3 tablespoons of puréed meat 3 times a day, for two weeks. No veggies for 8 weeks, no fruit for 3 months, no dairy for 6months and no starches for 9 months. I'm going to ask about some of that as they give gastric bypass and band people the same guidelines. I know that because the last NUT class there were people getting all 3 procedures. I want to follow my docs orders, but I'm getting the sleeve to avoid the issues the other 2 have! Threetimesacharm 1,400 Posted September 30, 2012 Canned meats can be pureed: tuna, chicken, turkey all canned mix with your favorite add ins. Also cottage cheese is very high in Protein, puree in a small food chopper measure out two tablespoons.
bkz3 17 Posted September 30, 2012 I know pureed meats don't sound appealing, but I'll tell you want, I'm on day 9 of my liquid only high Protein diet, tomorrow starts the Clear Liquids for a week (surgery is Tuesday, Oct. 2), and I can not wait to first be on the full liquid stage and be able to have Tomato soup! lol But then I was reading the pureed foods stage and it all sound delicious at this point! Refried Beans with a little sour cream, pureed tuna with lite miracle whip, pureed egg salad with lite miracle whip......I think I'm drooling....lol Never would've thought in a million years I'd be drooling over anyone of those things
ashleytn 48 Posted September 30, 2012 My surgery is October 3rd. I wouldn't mind pureeing egg salad and chicken salad. When I started my pre-op diet it was 3 shakes and one low calorie meal, and I lost 8 pounds in 5 days. I was eating between 800-900 calories. Now that I'm on only 4 shakes a day (440 calories) my body is hanging on to my weight.
LA_dreamer 54 Posted September 30, 2012 My first puree meal was tuna salad. It was sooo good after all those liquids. I also tried the roast beef hash I saw on the eggface website. It looks and smells aweful but I added a touch of BBQ and it was very good. Other than those I just threw whatever I cooked for my family in the mini processor. 1 Nick'sMom reacted to this
