Hiatal Hernias??????????

Does anyone know how they find out if you have a hiatal hernia through blood test, xrays etc.....

Also how do they fix or remove it?

My doctor found out I had a Hiatal Hernia by scoping me. The fix the damage and sometimes net the top of your stomach so it can't pouch out.

I'm not sure how exactly they would do it with a lap band patient though.

Mine was repaired when my band was installed.

I had to drink this barium and they took an x-ray. The dr. stiches it up before they put the band in.

They found mine by performing an upper GI series.

I am having an upper GI series tomorrow morning to test for one. The doctor said if they find one they will just fix it at the same time they are doing the band.

They fixed it when they did my band. I didn't even know i had one.
