Dr.Alvarez is just under$9,000. Or he was when I had my surgery. He is an amazing surgeon. I only had to pay for airfare and my husband stayed with me at the hotels and hospital.

I went with Quinones as well most affordable on here mydocline@gmail.com is the email. His wesbite is drsergioquinones.com. No post complications after surgery, No leak issues or any problems. I had a personal Valet pick me up and drop me off at my location. You can bring a guest at no additional charge. They have wifi etc. at the facility. The location is more of a private hospital setting in a new facility in the newer part of TJ and not in a strip mall. There is an onsite doctor at all times during your stay, if you have surgery on Friday you will stay til Sunday and then go to Hotel Del Rio. Just FYI regardless who you pick be aware doctors are going up on pricing on the first of the year, not all are but many are. So keep that in mind and ask when you call and get pricing if you plan to get surgery next year. The majority of his patients are on Gastric Sleeve a few are on here.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
