The bigger incision where they take out the belly. Does anyone still have that stinging pulling feeling near that side. When u stand up or walk up stairs. I'm 16 days out. The surgeon says that's where they put a stitch deep in there. I'm wondering if its just still healing or if its too close to a nerve or something??

I had my post op visit today. This incision was one of my concerns as well. I'm not sure how your surgeon did it, but mine puts mesh under the incision and stitches the incision under the top skin line and then staples close.

I have pain in that area as well as in my back. It's going to take 6-8 weeks for it to go away. It gets better. He promised me!

Yes, it's very normal to feel stinging between weeks 2-5. It usually goes away by week 6. There is another set of stitches inside that takes a little longer to heal than the ports elsewhere.

Just take it easy. It should only bother you when moving according to what he told me. For me, it's true.

I'm walking. Easy walking. I'm starting the treadmill tomorrow. We'll see how it goes.

I mean mines not horrible, I have a 1 year old I carry around and I nanny for a family with other children, so I'm constantly on the go, walking a lot. The only time it bothers me is at night, when I get in and out of bed, certain things I lift cause pain. I know they say no more than 10- 15 lbs, but my doc played me with my daughter, she's 22 lbs and he said since I've always lifted her it wouldn't cause any harm, but I lift the other children, just I use my left side instead of my right side where it's still tender. If you're in a lot of pain still I'm not sure that's too normal. I think a little tender is fine, but it. Shouldn't keep you from doing normal everyday things.
