I was wondering if anyone has/had a Ninja Blender and what your thoughts are on it, I'm really interested in getting one but wanted to see how others felt about it, since it's kinda on the high end of price! Also what do ou guys make in it? Thanks :D

I bought the Ninja based on recommendations from this site. I like it, but sometimes fluids will leak when blending. I usually blend a little, tighten, blend a little, and tighten. Somehow, it loosens while blending, and you get crud stuck in the base. Other than that, I really like it. The single serving cups are spectacular.

Love it! We have one at work for doing chopped/puréed diets. I don't recommend putting it in the dishwasher tho. The bottom of it has cracked from heat, doesn't leak tho.

Which ninja do you have? Mine doesn't have anything to "tighten".

BTW, I love mine. We mostly use it to make smoothies, or as a food processor. I also use it to turm ice into snow.

It's the Ninja system that comes with 2 single serve cups, one big pitcher, some kind of cookie dough paddle, and tops. I put the ingredients in the single serving cups and put the blending lid on, and turn it over to place into the turn lock base. It blends and loosens a little while blending. I think it happens only when I use frozen fruits. It's a minor inconvenience, I love the blender.

My Ninja Kitchen System is a winner!

It would make a great Bass-O-Matic!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
