Hi there,

I would ask your doctor. Some doctors include fills in the price that the patient pays for the surgery. Some times insurance will cover the cost, and sometimes you need to pay out of pocket, and I have heard the prices have a huge range from like $100-$500. Although I think paying more then $250 for a fill is too much. But again it depends on your area and your doctor. Your best bet is to ask. Good Luck!

Mine are expensive. $400 w/out fluro and $750 with...:) I hate going for fills, it drains my paychecks

Hi,

I was done by Ray McHenry this year. I pay $105 each visit, might be $103 and I get it all back from medicare. I am over my medicare threadhold however I think I got all back before hitting that limit, all but $1 or something small.

Regards

I go through ESV and you get 100% back from medicare as they bill 25% under the scheduled fee so there is no gap for us to pay.... you pay them and then go over to medicare and get it all straight back. Lucky us! I've had 12 adjustments so i'd be a bit broke if it was $250 a pop like some other people have to pay.

I pay nothing, it was all included in my up front out of pocket expenses of $3060. They just bulk bill medicare each time for anything for the rest of my life which i think is a pretty good deal.

I paid $2500 upfront for a personal trainer, Protein for life and fills up to a yr after surgery. I think after that they only charge for when its flurol(sp?)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
