It is really sad when we are left by someone we love. Now, let's look at the other side of the coin. You have lost 105 lbs and are looking hotter than you have 105 lbs ago. This woman wasn't a match for you and this leaves you open to fine someone that truly loves you for who you are. This is a new beginning and it is hard, but worth it. :)

The fact that you lost that much weight in such a short time has to be a huge accomplishment and you're not focusing on the good here. Do

Something for you. Make yourself happy. I'm sorry about your fiancé but she obviously doesn't see what a committed person you are

But look what you did do... you didn't have food to turn to so you turned here. That is definitely a positive step. I'm sure there are many of us that have had to endure breakups while struggling with our weight. Lean on others when you need, stay strong. There is nothing wrong with talking to your doctor if you feel overwhelmed. Even call the doctor you went for your psych consult. That doctor would have the background potentially with weight issues and depression. Take care of yourself.

Take one day at a time, tomorrow is a new day and happiness awaits you. It's hard right now so just focus on today and your goals for today. You've done excellent on your weight loss. Things will get better one day at a time.

And BTW - you never know. Maybe she will come to her senses after she has backed away and really looked at who she gave up, and come back! You never know....stranger things have happened!

I definitely would recommend that you DO ask your PCP (regular doc) for antidepressants. They work extremely well - I've been taking them for almost 20 years now. But realize one thing - and this is IMPORTANT: They are NOT like taking an aspirin for a headache. You do not get instant results. It takes 2 to 3 weeks for them to "kick in", so BE PATIENT. They WILL work - just give them time. In the meantime, concentrate on losing even more weight and direct your thoughts toward that instead of toward her. Eventually she might see that she screwed up big time, and then you can decide if you even WANT her anymore!

Good luck - I'm a girl, but I have definitely "Been there, Done that, and have a BOATLOAD of tee shirts, too"! I know how you are feeling right now. It sucks, but as my Dad used to say, "This too shall pass". And it will.

I'm sorry that you had to go through this rough patch. I look back at my life and see now that those troubled times came before some of my greatest gifts. There is no shame getting help if you are depressed. I have depression and have been treated for about three years. There are things that can help and you are worth it!

I agree with the above posters. Keep your chin up. You will meet someone that you click with. Someone that has the same goals and healthy lifestyle. Sometimes the hardest endings lead to the most amazing beginnings! Best of luck to you! Dee

Oh, I'm so sorry! My son went thru this. It has taken him a year to recover. He leaned on his family and his friends. He is just is starting to look around for a possible relationship now. The point is, it DOES hurt. Own it, acknowledge it, work thru it. Thank goodness broken hearts do mend, eventually. And maybe one day you'll be able to look back at the good times you had w/o pain.

I am VERY proud that you came on here for help. That is so much healthier than turning to food.

Hugs to you, from a caring sleever and a mom who has been there w her son.

Man I've been thru close to the same thing. You have to be happy at what life give you sometimes. Don't look and her leaving as a bad thing. Think off it as you dodging a bullet, use it as motivation and become something epic. You deserve the best and no one gives that better than God and yourself. So stay focused and you'll be ight.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
