gower05 1 Posted October 1, 2012 All I have been doing is throwing up and dry heaving. Im always in constant pain and the liquid medicine I have to take is absolutely horrible tasting which makes me puke more. I cannot even sip on Water bc it makes me dry heave. Plzz someone tell me this is normal and it gets better!? Im about to break down crying *Jess* I am now 4 days post-op and I decided after 1 dose of the liquid pain medicine all I would do is puke if I continued to take it. I decided I could handle the pain more than the dry heaving, so i stppped taking it on day 1 post-op. Today is the first day I can stand up without severe pain in my left side, so the pain is getting better. Good news for me is my blood sugar has completely normalized and I no longer take any diabetes meds. As of this morning I am down 10 lbs since surgery day and 16 lbs total. Hang in there! Hope everything continues to improve for you:)
giggles012980 12 Posted October 1, 2012 I had nothing like this. All my meds & Vitamins were in pill form 2 days post op. Have they given you bentyl for stomach spasms??? That makes a HUGE difference. My doc kept me on it 2 months post op, reglan as well. I've never thrown up. Only dry heaved twice in hospital & that was during leak test. Hope you feel better quickly!!!

Clove90 7 Posted October 1, 2012 I had my surgery the day after yours and found out the next day pain is better than throwing up. I quit the pain meds and just took phenergan for nausea. Today, 4 days out, I am feeling pretty good, more discomfort than pain. Hope it is going better with you.
