myafternoondesires 5 Posted September 26, 2012 I'm day six out of my operation and the first two/three days I was home was able to drink all my Water and shakes now I'm having hard time just doing water. This scares me as I am on heart meds and mental meds and I am not able to take them like I need to. I already notice I cry more and feeling down and heart racing. Does anyone have any tips or advice on something I can try?
BellaRoma713 46 Posted September 26, 2012 I am on day 5. I have had to stop the crystal lights, etc. for a few days based upon dr. advice. I am now having broth and herbal teas to get my fluids in. plain Water wasn't going down well for me. Have you tried anything else besides water? 1 myafternoondesires reacted to this
Ljp 157 Posted September 26, 2012 I'm day six out of my operation and the first two/three days I was home was able to drink all my Water and shakes now I'm having hard time just doing Water. This scares me as I am on heart meds and mental meds and I am not able to take them like I need to. I already notice I cry more and feeling down and heart racing. Does anyone have any tips or advice on something I can try? My surgery was July 16th & I still cant do water. I dont do well w liquids period...as in I cant get much dowm me. Lemon lime gatorade wrks the best so far & since the past weekend, i hv add water to my gatorade & added crystal light to it. Tastes great & hopefully it will continue to wrk so I can get on "just" crystal light. I hv tried it but so far I cant. But if you havent tried crystal light maybe give it a shot. Everyones body is diff, you may be able to do it. Your body is going through a shock w this surgery & sometimes it can throw you into an emotional world wind...try to stay positive & think of wht you will look like in the months to come. You can do this. 1 myafternoondesires reacted to this
myafternoondesires 5 Posted September 26, 2012 I tried Water with crystal light/mio and just plain water. I was doing the Unjury chicken broth so I can get Protein but that isn't working either. I did a sip of juice and was nice cause of the difference but got full off that sip. I've used carnation instant breakfast/ensure and boost. I can't do the tea unless I find a Decaf one cause caffeine makes my heart beat faster and they limit you on that also to one 8oz cup a day and only 4oz of 100% juice. I just feel full all the time. I haven't been released to drive yet so at the mercy of others if I need something opposite of the grocery list of things I bought prior.
Pookeyism 1,143 Posted September 26, 2012 In addition to the flavored Water and teas, consider a distilled Water, the additional sats added to drinking water might not agree with your tummy...also experiment with what temperatures you tolerate better. Good luck! 1 myafternoondesires reacted to this
Angelmom 30 Posted September 26, 2012 Have you tried cold water....may be soothing to your belly and help with swelling a little bit. 1 myafternoondesires reacted to this
myafternoondesires 5 Posted September 26, 2012 I drink only cold Water and had warm water for the Soup Protein Powder. I will try it just a bit hotter and see how it goes. I wanna thank you all for responding. I don't feel so alone.
Bmarion662 76 Posted September 26, 2012 If the heart is racing and that is a new symptom and not being caused by not taking your meds please contact your surgeon as that is one of the symptoms of leak. At least that is what I read in my papers from my NUT 1 myafternoondesires reacted to this
myafternoondesires 5 Posted September 26, 2012 Nah not a new symptom. That's why I decided to do the surgery cause my heart doctor said it would help.
