Hey everyone. So I officially started my journey. I went to a seminar, met with the surgeon, and did the psych evaluation. Has anyone on here gone to this clinic and could give me their opinions. I very nervous but I know I'm doing this for all the right reasons.

Hi there! I'm not going to your clinic, but I share your feelings of nervousness mixed with excitement! I'm ready to get this party started already! Jumped through my last hoop Mon. night when I had my 2nd sleep study for severe anea. DOS is 10/11/12. I've lost 14 lbs. Already (a drop on the bucket)-looking forward to seeing my size go down! Good luck!

I am still waiting for my insurance to approve. Got the psyc avail done. Not going to lie, when I met with the doc, and was asking questions, he pretty much told me not to worry about what he does, we'll, I'm a worrier. Also, this question I didn't ask was, how many sleeves has he done? I know he has done over 1600+ bypass. Glad I found someone in my area

Was this Dr . Marymor? He answered a my questions in detail and was open about his numbers and included two patients who had gotten leaks.

Yes, maybe he was this way because I was the last person and we were there for over 4 hours. Did he say how many he has done and hiw he handled the leaks? Btw, how are you feeling? Im going to try and go to one of the meetings this week. Sorry to bombard you with questions.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
