Hello all my post oppers;) had my pre op appt and my dr gave me the option of how I would like my incisions covered after surgery. So what's your experince. My options are gauze covered with tegederm ( a clear dressing) or the glue dermabond so what's your experience?

I have had 4 laparoscopic procedures & the dermabond glue was the best, in my opinion.

My doctor also used the glue. Glad he did. It disappears and my incisions are healing nicely.

My doctor used the glue. Turned out I was allergic to it. My large incision still isn't healed(I am 9 weeks post op). I also had massive itching and rash ( doctor thinks is from the glue) that showed up about two weeks after surgery. It's cool that the doctor gives you the option.

Hydrocortisone cream helped and was approved by my DR, but mostly just had to wait it out, and try not to scratch. My main incision still isn't healed all the way, it is making progress though.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
