Follow the doctors orders about phased eating plans and Vitamins. You could really get sick if not getting the correct amount of nutrients or eating the wrong foods too early. It would be good for you to discuss with NUT. Good luck.

I'm day 10 with my sleeve and I'm still on Clear Liquids. Every doctor is different with the diets but my doctors plan I think will be beneficial for me. It's 2 weeks clear liquids

2 weeks full liquids

2 weeks soft food.

Sometimes I forget to take it easy with running around but I have to stop myself and remember this was major surgery and it's for my future. Best of luck to you!!!!! :)

I think at this point you should still be on full liquids' date=' don't push it take it easy you are in this for the long haul.

Protein shakes

yogurt

thinned creamy Soups strained

sf pudding

sf Jello

soupy cream of wheat

You will have the rest of your life to eat, let your stomach heal and be good to it.[/quote']

Not all surgeons have the same plans. I was doing puree and starting with mushy soft food at 2 weeks with the blessing of my doctor. He said to "progress as you can tolerate."

My doc told me the same but my nut freaked and said to stick to her plan. So I am. And now further out my stomach forces me to stick to it. It is crazy how different every ones plan is.

This is the eating stage plan I was on as well. Not only does this give your sleeve time to heal, you can also lose a heck of a lot of weight. You just have to make sure to get the Protein, fluids and supplements in.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
