Anyone Use The Wii?

Recommended Posts

I have Wii Fit Plus but haven't been on it in months... I got tired of hearing the animated board thingy say "oOOooooo that's OBESE!!!" every time I got on to check my weight! LOL!!

That's what I do for my workout. I am addicted to the Yoga section! It was a FINE, FINE day when the snide little voice FINALLY chirped, "That's overweight!" My new goal is to hear the next snide remark... That's a good weight?

Wow, I didn't know it said that I was always afraid to get the board. I thought I would break it because I weighed so much.

While I'm not a sleever yet, I thought I'd reply .. I have a program on the WII called 'Walk It Out'. I LOVE it. I work from home, so can walk right in my own house, in any sort of weather. You walk/jog in place to a wide variety of music with different beats, while clicking on things on the screen to create/build your town.

While not for those advanced movers, if you're just getting started moving .. this game is great!

I just bought Walk It Out used on ebay and can't wait to get it. According Facebook, Amazon reviews, and message boards this game is super addicting and almost has a cult-like following. They say you forget you are exercising because its sooo fun. Self proclaimed couch potatoes that hate exercise end up walking 7 or 8 miles a day trying to unlock new stuff. I am going to use this and wii Fit Plus. Thanks for this thread...its been very helpful to me.

i have a Wii fit plus, and like it well enough. I also bought the AE Sports game "Wii Active" and "Active 2". There is everything from cardio to strength training, to yoga/stretching. Talk about a bum-kicking!! It comes with a resistance band as well. Guess I will dust off the old Wii in preparation for the surgery!

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
