I know that loose skin is a common problem... has anyone found that they can't stand it to the point of regret or do you just deal with it and enjoy your new body?

Not there yet but imagine I will feel a bit of both until it is financially feasible to have the excess skin removed.

NOPE because I look great with clothes on.. Just how I want to look. I even stood on the kids stool in the bathroom today before my shower to see how droopy my butt is getting.

The excess skin is a big concern I have. I'm not super worried about what I'll look like in public, clothed and all, but worried that my sweetheart husband won't find me attractive. :( Not saying he won't of doesn't love me, but to be attracted to me. He's always loved my plush-ness, and to be true, I like the way I feel (to the touch)--the softness, not so much with the aching knees/legs. I can't see me (or him) feeling the same way when I feel and look like a hairless shar-pei with poking bones.

I too am worried about looking like a charpae but when I asked my husband what he would prefer -he said as long as I'm happy, then to him I am hot (good answer!) He then looked at my stomach ("Big Bertha") and said he did nt understand what I was saying. I was like the skin will be down to here (pointing to my upper thighs) and he replied "but now it's out to here! As long as you still feel soft and smell nice I won't mind the extra skin." awe! But that's what he says now!! 

I know in my heart that my hubby won't mind but I mind. That's the mental battle I have constantly besides not eating bread!!

bread, OMG I feel like a heroin addict. I was soooo addicted. I guess I still am and will always be. I miss it but I know it was (is) so bad for me.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
