Body Wraps...do They Really Work?

Recommended Posts

I haven't had surgery yet, but I've read alot of different postings about individuals having trouble with loose skin after weight loss and this is a huge concern of mine. I've heard that body wraps can help with contouring and firming the skin, and I just wanted to see if anyone has tried body wraps for weight loss and skin firming? How did it work and how off then did you get them? And did you notice a change?

I would definitely be interested in information about this too. So far I'm trying a dry skin brush and ab workouts. We'll see how it goes.

Hmm...Well I think I am going to try a few sessions prior to surgery and see if it helps any and I will give an update! I would still love to hear some feed back from anyone who has had some type of body wraps or skin scrub done...

I'm only a month out but I bathe my body in biooil at least twice a day. Also as soon as I'm released I'm going to do lots of weights and start yoga in a month or so. My friend had vsg 3 yrs ago and she said lifting and working on her Abs made a HUGE difference! She is in her mid 50s and did have a small Tummy Tuck but was told it would have been a lot more if she hasn't worked hard on her abs. I would love to know about the wraps because my stomach and chest is going to be my biggest issue. I'm only 27 but my boobs r already beyond saggy :(

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
