newlifeforlittleME 23 Posted September 24, 2012 Hello everyone. I had my surgery on 7-31-12. I started out at 306 and after two week preop diet I was 288 day if surgery. I am 5'7" and 35 years old. My journey started out so well and the weight was just pouring off. For the last 10 days...not a SINGLE pound gone. Each day the scale reads 254.6. It's so frustrating. I'm so happy with what I've done thus far but Lordy!! How long will this silly stall last? Just need some encouragement. I am doing everything by the book. No more than 600 calories per day. 80 of Protein. Exercise. Ugh! I know I can push more water...that I need to do but I'm just curious as to if anyone has experienced the same frustration?? It's all new 453 Posted September 24, 2012 Yes, most everyone has experienced the same frustration. I had a month long stall that started two weeks after surgery. I have had two more shorter stalls since then. It is just part of the deal, for most of us there is no way to avoid it. Sounds like you are doing the right things and if you continue to do so the scale will eventually move. Try not to weigh for a week - it will take some of the day to day pressure off. LouiseC 1,031 Posted September 24, 2012 I would try increasing your calories and your Water. It may be that you are getting too few calories and need to let your body know you are not starving to death.
Izuri 428 Posted September 24, 2012 This just sounds like a stall to me. You had surgery about a week after me and are down five or more pounds than I am - so I think we're both pretty much right on target on weight loss. I got stuck in a three week long stall towards the beginning. It was horrible, but it broke eventually. If you're doing all the right things the scale will eventually start to show it again. You're doing great, try and focus on all the NSVs you must be having =)
hadouni 301 Posted September 24, 2012 Don't get frustrated! Try to stay off the scale for a few days at a time and go by how your clothes are fitting. For instance, I really saw results in the fit (around) of my bra even when the scale wasn't dropping like I'd have liked to see. I'm at the point that I loose 2-4lbs a month (I'm being lazy) and it all comes off with my period sometimes. I'm grateful for every pound though! You're doing great!
