Ok so I was sleeved on 8/27 so I'm 4 weeks post-op. I am down 34 lbs and can tell it's really working it's way inward. For a while now it's hurt to prop my feet up on the couch and cross my ankles (bone on bone) and my wedding band is loose. I usually take a shower but last night I decided on a bath. As I was propping up my legs to shave I discovered a long lost body part!

No... not that....

I have a butt bone! LOL. I have lost a lot of my weight from this area and didn't realize just how much until I tilted back just a little in the tub and ouch! So I measured... I've lost 3 inches there!

I was sleeved on 8/23. I've only lost a little over 15lbs since, but I lost 35 before. Apparently I lost all 50lb in my rear end. It hurts to sit down; I feel bones poking. Even my office chair at work hurts. I said something at my MD visit and was told that this is what everyone says! I have thought about taking a bath but I don't think I'm brave enough - yet!

Sitting on a sponge helped me to finish shaving. Haha.

When I lay on my side in bed, my arm now rests on a hip bone instead of my former cushy fat. It doesn't feel all that good but it looks much better! :P

I really hope I don't lose anything from my hind part. I have nothing to spare back there. I always say God was working on my front and got distracted when it came to my back parts.

Hahahaha!!! So glad I'm not the only one with the office chair that is not rearend friendly!!! I'm gonna buy a gel cushion for my chair or there will be very little work getting accomplished!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
