Hey everyone! So I finally got sleeved on 09/19 and omg! I can say that those initial 3 days were hands Down the worst days of my life! I'm just so thankful that I am alive and that evrything is ok. No complications occurred , but those gas pains were out of this world!!! I have a question for you all, thankfully I am feeling much much better , but, I've noticed that when I drink I feel very strange inside. It feels warm, bubbly , and somewhat painful , in a matter of seconds it's gone . It feels like heartburn but it occurs right below my breast, not the chest area .I was just wondering if anyone has had this happen to them.. If so, please share some info with me :) thsnks

congratulations! I'm jealous :) My surgery date isn't until November 12th. I'm sure what you're feeling is normal and that the worst will be behind you in just a few more days. I mean think about what they did, I'm sure your stomach is say "what the hell just happened". Well good luck to you. I do have a question for you though, I hear some people say they have a "drain" left in them, hanging out of them, etc... Is that true? If so, for how long and does it hurt.

I meet with my surgeon on Thursd of this week and I'm sure he will answer my questions, but I am just curious.

Diane

you can read on the board that many people do have a drain - but most sleevers say it was not painful

per my question, surgeon told me i wouldn't have a drain.

do a search on drains, you'll see many responses and explanations

check it out

good luck

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
