Sleeve on 9-18-2012. Whoever told me about the Isopure drinks!!!! Completely worth the 6.00 a bottle. I won't do broths anymore so I've been living off sugar free popsicle and Water and still always feeling hungry. This drink isn't something my doctor even clued me in on. At least I feel better knowing I am getting something else in my system and finally the Protein will fight off that hunger feeling.. One Happy Girl!!

What flavors do you like? I tried the banana pineapple one it wasn't bad. As a matter of fact tomorrow I have to do liquids only the day before surgery. I will go get some more of them.

Well, I started with the Alpine Punch! I have one more. It takes me forever to drink a full drunk now anyways. I like the Alpine Punch, anything is better then that darn broth!

omg, there are sooo many things/products that you can get online to get all your Protein in...and cheaper than Isopure, if cost is an issue. I just bought a bunch of stuff from bariatricchoice.com. They have a shitload of stuff: I got these diet Fruit Drinks that have 15grams of protein...i gut some cappuccinos that have 14grams...there's also Syntrax Nectar which mixes really well and comes in 14 flavors. Im planning to do blended shakes and got some unflavored to mix with fruit, etc...theres also a few places that'll send a bag of samples to try. Go online and punch in "bariatric foods" or "bariatric Protein Powder "...ive been oedering sample packs and asking all the companies to send me samples to try. Thus stuff is expensive, and I didn't want to waste money on tubs of stuff I won't use....have fun trying stuff out!

Btw, I just tried a sample of the Syntrax Nectar cappucino flavor....OMG! Mixed it in with my iced coffee, and it was divine. It has sweetener and a creamy taste, so I needed nothing except the coffee and the powder. Soooooo good! Im definitely ordering a tub of that one...i thought my coffee days were over. Thank god! Plus its got the Protein. STOKED!!

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
