no fruits on full liquid. Fruits are also very high in sugar. Full liquid is soups(thinned), shakes, pudding, Jello, all sugar free, soupy cream of wheat.

I have been having shakes and Soup, I don't like the sweetness of pudding or jello and would prefer to consume only foods with Protein to help get that number up.

This is the full liquid list from my doc hope it's a little helpful with ideas for you, keeping in mind all docs have different lists

.Day 11 thru 20 ( full liquids )

o
Yogurt: buy the ones that do not have pieces of fruit in them.

o
All cream Soups are OK. Just avoid the blending meat in them since they will be too dense for your new stomach.

o
meat, tuna, chicken,
even if they are blended in soups
are too much for your stomach at this point. You need to wait until you are on the solid food stage.

o
The following cream soups are very popular : broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, brussels sprouts, Beans, peas. Nevertheless some patients have reported they cause excess gas, everyone is different. So I guess it will have to be what works best for you.

o
smoothies are Ok as long as they do not contain much sugar in them.

Every doctor is different. My 2nd week i was able to have full liquids and they consisted of yogurt (i stuck to greek because higher in protein), SF pudding, cottage cheese and then what i was having before SF Jello, broths, Protein Drinks, SF popcicle's etc. Did you get a list from your NUT?

Best advise is always to follows your docs orders but the direction he gives on Fiber is confusing to me?? Based on his fiber direction you would'nt be eating any fruits or veggie until after your 3rd month.

Fiber is the general name for material in vegetables, fruits, and grains that our bodies can't digest fully. There are two terms used to describe fiber:

  • Soluble fiber breaks down into a gel in the intestines. As it passes through your GI tract, soluble fiber absorbs Water and slows down digestion. Soluble fiber is found in oatmeal, nuts, Beans, apples, and blueberries.
  • Insoluble fiber doesn’t really break down in the intestines. It passes through the body mostly intact. Insoluble fiber speeds up digestion -- it causes what experts call "intestinal hurry." Insoluble fiber is in foods like seeds, grains, and the stringy parts or skins of fruits and vegetables.

My doc was focused more on food density and the impact that had on my stomach. So meat, tuna, chicken came later. I'll post the rest of the guidelines I had if you would like for reference.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
