buffythefatslayer 66 Posted October 2, 2012 Sara, I am so proud of you and I don't even know you. To have such courage is a blessing. I am in a similar situation with my boyfriend. I don't want to be alone, but he is so negative and doesn't want me to lose weight. Like you, I have taken a back seat and put everyone ahead of me. No more! He tries to find ways to discourage me from having surgery. He is overweight himself and I think he fears that once I lose the weight, I am gone. Like your husband, he is home all day, but not because he is disabled but because he is lazy and has worked a part time job for 6 years with the airline. I am the bread winner and his only contribution buys groceries and pays one or two bills, which I do need help with. I know I deserve so much more but I haven't gotten there yet. This surgery is my first step in deserving better for myself. Thanks for the inspiration. 1 sfernandez2828 reacted to this
