Hair Loss And Skin Reaction Post Surgery

Recommended Posts

I've read a couple of journals on the issue and they all suggest that zinc supplementation greatly slows down telogen effluvium. I've been taking it since before surgery. I'm going into my 9th week and so far I'm in the clear.

its really important that you get in all your Protein and Vitamins. Biotin will help slow any loss, and I've heard of many people who are militant about their protein, biotin and other vits, who haven't lost any hair at all....

I've already been taking my multi gummies, and a tiny biotin softgel...easy!

I have experienced a lot of Hair loss and have heard about Biotin from several. I struggle with pills but for some reason not the Rx vit d. Is your biotin a gel tab? If so where are you finding it?

Wal Mart has the biotin soft gels that are smaller than a tic tac. Real easy to swallow. I take 2 a day.

I lam a year out and have never lost any hair. I was religious about making sure I got my Protein in and I still take biotin! Fast weight loss without the protein will definitely make you lose hair, not sure if the Biotin helped or not...but I didn't take any chances! lol

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
