I Spiced Up My Protein Shake!

Recommended Posts

I have done that as well. I like to use the pumpkin pie spice that has cinnamon and nutmeg. So yummy. Another thing I like to do sometimes is to add a scoop of caffeine free instant coffee to my shakes. It's to die for!

PB2 has 45 calories and 5 grams of Protein, so once a day should be great. I bought some Torani sugar free syrups made with sucralose (not as healthy as PB2, but zero calories) i tried Peanut Butter and salty caramel in my Optifast, and it definitely yummed it up. I have vanilla, brown sugar and cinnamon, white chocolate, and gingerbread flavors for oatmeal during my soft phase and for Breakfast afterwards. I had to buy a case of the assorted flavors on Amazon, but it was only 35 for 6 bottles.< /p>

PB2 is so good you won't be sorry, I buy mine on line...just google PB2 and their web site comes right up and its so much cheaper that way, I only buy the chocolate pb as it so good, I think much better than the plain. I don't think they charge tax and the shipping is good. I buy the one pd packages and just can't get enough of it. ENJOY!

Sounds great everyone, thanks for the tips. I am in the "puree stage" and am still mainly drinking shakes because most everything I have pureed is nasty.

Have you tried pureeing a nice hearty homemade Soup? I'm still post-op- can we have pureed veggies or for example, minestrone Soup (no pasta), pureed while on this stage? I bought powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury unflavored whey Protein and it suggests adding it to Soups and fruit flavored Crystal light. Has anyone tried Soups w/ Protein powder during purée stage?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
