New here... Lots of questions. I had my sleeve on Monday the 17th and I am still having a lot of pain from one of the incisions. Is this normal? Also am I suppose to start drinking Protein Drinks? My doctor said make sure I drink 64oz of clear Fluid. But didn't say anything about Protein. Please help

I would give your dr. A call. I had surgery on the 18 th and never really had pain from my incisions. You need to make sure there isnt an infection starting. Then you can also ask about your Protein. I get to start adding protein on Sunday, but every dr. Is different. Best to talk to your dr. Best wishes.

Call your dr's office. Make sure you understand about your dr's prescribed diet (every dr.'s recommendations differ in some way) but see about the incisions. Do you have any drainage coming out? Even if not, call his office (even over the weekend) and inquire about those pls. Best of luck to you.

I had pain at one incision for almost 2 weeks. Only thing that helped was a trigger point injection.

My surgery was 9/12 & I still have left side pain from that bigger incision... Went back to hospital on this past Wed b/c if dehydration & my side - they did a cat-scan & mine was just bruised real bad but not any issues that would cause any other issues... Good luck & yes it's normal - I've read on this site numerous people have this on the left side - I believe also that is where they pulled out the stomach... Hope yours gets better soon...

Hey = we are sleeve sisters. I was sleeve on 9/17 too, only two years ago.

Call your doctor on Monday. Next, get on google and do a search for VSG diet plans (sometimes you have to spell out) You can get a lot of different opinions out there of what other docs think you should be taking in.

To break it down: First couple of weeks is more about being hydrated than being worried about Protein but that doesn't mean you should ignore Protein. Try different kinds of protein, clear worked for me from Isopure. Taste not so great but I could drink an entire bottle in a day with 40 gm of protein. Much better than those thick Protein shakes that came right back up.

Ask your doc what you should be doing to ensure proper nutrition including supplements. Good luck and hang in there. Things will be better. Feel free to contact me directly...sister.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
