Full Body Lift...when Is It Safe To Travel?

Recommended Posts

Even though I'm only 3 months post sleeve, I'm already planning the next phase. Fingers crossed I get to goal one year post op (June 2013).

I'm going to Hawaii in early September and was looking at getting the surgery before I go.

Or would it be best I wait until my return?

Or do I wait a while after I reach my goal before I contemplate surgery?

Your thoughts?

There was one sleever on here that recommended waiting a minimum of one year after hitting goal, before deciding on surgery. She said her skin continued to change up to one year after hitting goal. She said she would have had alot more cosmetic surgery done right after hitting goal compared to what she was contemplating after one year. I decided I'll wait....it will save me money if I only have to get one procedure instead of two or three.

I suppose so, though my skin is not going to bounce back like I wish it would. Everything has been heading south for years.

I'm pretty sure that they tell you to wait a year or two before having any plastic surgery done. Some people still need it after that point and some don't. Even if you still need it, it may be less skin you need to remove (and less risk). I've read a lot of threads and articles that doing weight training during weight loss can help tone, so maybe try that too? You might be surprised where you are a year from now.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
