Let Me Try That Again. Do People Really Eat Baby Food During The Soft Phase

Recommended Posts

I guess the ones I looked at had a lot more than that. I just meant too many calories for the quality. I always wanted my calories to go towards something yummy. After surgery you don't get to eat a lot so I wanted what I did eat to be good.

I hear you. I will be working, on the road, it just seems convenient. I actually had baby food before way back when I was in my 20s to stay under 130 lbs. didn't seem so bad then. I figure that I (meaning me, myself and I and not making presumptions for others) I can do it for one week. I may try to puree the meat I cook for the family (protein first) at dinner, but anything pureed is maybe not so yummy, in my taste. Let me know of any yummy pureed recipes.< /p>

Just Do It!!!

You think pot roast in its own juice would be good blenderized?

Here's a great recipe that I use right now as a Salad Dressing and it's full of Protein. 2oz of cashew nuts (raw/unsalted), 1 orange (peeled and cut into pieces), a splash of apple cider vinegar, sea salt, black pepper and garlic powder to taste. You can blend It in one of those small baby food blenders or food processor until it's smooth. You can add Water to thin it out a bit. I'm sure this can be eaten during the pureed stage It's soooooo yummy and has 10 grams of protein. Enjoy!

I totally plan on eating baby food in my puréed stage. I am single, so preparing a whole meal just to blend up a small amount for me sounds like too much work and too many dishes to wash (I hate cooking/baking BTW). And I'm on the road all day for work so a little jar of a ready to eat meal sounds like a great idea! And other than lacking a little seasoning, I don't mind the taste.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
