Can't Sleep, Surgery Tomorrow 9/22

Recommended Posts

Laying in bed, can't sleep. Excited about tomorrow.

Survived Clear Liquids diet today, that was rough. hoping that I wont be in too much pain after. And hoping that I wake up from the surgery. Knock on wood.

Good luck to you. Im sure its normal to be a bit restless the nite before your life totally changes for the better. I will pray that all goes well and you have a smooth recovery. Think positive!

Congratulations! This is exciting!!! Don't fret about not waking up, of course you're going to wake up, don't talk crazy like that. That hardest part is over. By this time tomorrow you'll be sore, hooked up to pain killers and ready to egon the rest of your life. It's going to be awesome!

I'm nervous too but we are going to do great. I go in on Monday. I talked to someone today that was sleeved 17 days ago. Not only did she look great but she felt great too. While she had many of the same fears, she went into it with a positive attitude about the operation and the recovery and that made all the difference. Good luck and I will see you soon on the losers bench.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
