I burp too much**is that normal**

Recommended Posts

Since I got my last fill, I feel that I'm nicely restricted. However, whenever I eat anything I start having a series of continues little burps, that goes on for 10-15 minutes after anything I eat

I don't think I'm tight, as a matter of fact I can eat almost everything except soft breads. Yet, I don't understand why do I get these little soft burps. Could you help me please and tell me what is that? Although I don't eat fast at all, as one might think this is the reason..

I have the opposite problem....I wish I could burp. I hiccup alot, but not burp. before I started using Beano, I would get these huge (felt like it anyway) air pockets in there that wouldn't go anywhere. I would try so hard to burp but couldn't. Now they're not so bad..... if I remember to take the Beano.

I am with Miper on this, I don't burp anymore, although I sometimes wish I could. I do start hiccupping when eating though, and it is usually my band telling me I have had enough and to stop.

I already burp alot:D I know, it's not very lady like- but it feels so good.

I was wondering if burping was going to be impossible being banded, I guess not.

I will be banded this Friday, I am hoping all goes as planned.

I'm one of the non-burpers. Oh how I wish I could burp! I did the other night and it felt SO good. Pretty much whatever I swallow, air/food/water, it doesn't go anywhere. Which I guess is good - no pbs yet.

Do you guys think there is a correlation? Having too much burping and PBing? And vice xersa? Like maybe if you have an especially spasming esophagus or something? Don't you love my succinct medical vocab?

I burp after every meal.

that's good! I think that burping probably will help prevent a PB.

I am going to aim for a burp after every meal once I am banded :)

All that excess air needes to go somewhere!

Hehehe, that was very funny. See the weird thing in my case, even when I don't eat a lot (Maybe few bites) and I start burping a lot, I just wonder where the heck did all that air came from. But I'm glad you all think its a good thing for the bandsters:clap2:

PeloRojo: I don't think there is any relation between burping and BPing, cause I always burp but never BP'ed even if I ate a lot. The worst thing I would have is I would feel much pain in my chest (pouch)

I feel the need to burp also. Sometimes I will move just right and its like this long air bubble not a -burp but a ------urp. It's hard to explain. it is like someone put a pipe in and a steady release is let out....

Burps? Rarely...

But hiccups? Ah, they join me at nearly every meal, LOL...

That's my signal to say "Waiter? Check, please!"

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
