Plus Size Halloween Costume--Hoping It's The Last!

Recommended Posts

So sick of trying to find a cute and sexy halloween costume every year that will actually fit me and not make me look ridiculous. I find so many ADORABLE costumes in the regular sizes and every year I want to cry. Really hoping next year I'll finally get to choose from the lot and not be stuck on the plus size page contemplating what to buy for our annual costume party. I hate being limited to my choices (and I feel the same about clothes)! Who's with me?

I think the best part about Halloween for me this year is that I will be 6 days post-sleeve, so there'll be no eating up all the "leftover" candy. I swear, the same 9 or 10 kids come by trick or treating every year, yet I'd always find an excuse to buy the 50-piece candy bag.... "just in case." LOL, no more! And hopefully next year I'll be able to use a regular-sized costume and stop dressing up as the "fat ____ (fill in the blank)" guy.

This thread makes me wanna call for a group hug. I have learned to hate Halloween over the years for this very reason.

It's nice to know I'm not alone.

The good news is no one will be asking me to play Santa in December.

This year I will have my black clothes on and wear my witches hat again. already sleeved so costume express watch out!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
