Sleeved 8/31 Some of my inscisions are healed closed and the others still have huge scabs in them. To top it all off I have one stitch that's annoying the crap out of me... Any suggestion?? Should I pull out the scabs or leave them? What about my arch enemy the evil stitch?

lol...that's funny!

I have big scab on several of my incisions, and the one is really, really gross. I wouldn't advise you ripping your's off. Mine bother me when rubbed by clothing, so sometimes I put large bandages over them to get relief. I have mine glued together, instead of stitched....except for the drain hole...that one is just a scab.

As a nurse I say "NO"

But...... lol..... I had a really strange scab left after they removed my drain. It was (excuse me for being gross) from where it drained around it and burned my skin. It wound not heal there and my skin was healing upward instead (almost like a keloid) and this hurt! So I worked for about a week trying to remove it. It felt soooo much better after. I think the reason i had so much trouble is because the scab WAS the old skin and it just wouldn't let go. Now it is healing inward.

I did not have scabs on my incisions because they used Dermabond (the glue stuff) on those and by the time it wore off my skin was 100% healed.

Oh yea i was sleeved on 8/27

I had the tape too but once it fell off, they started scabbing and I wanted to just wash it really good and pull it....grrrr

When the tape came off I could tell it wasn't healed well, so wondering if I pull them off if it will look the same or have healed more??

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
