Woman With Extra Hair On Face

Recommended Posts

I have pcos, started getting hair on my chin after my first child. I gained 60lbs with her. She is 14 now. I never lost the weight and just gained more. The hair on my chin was bad...I needed to pluck or wax every day. I was sleeved on aug 14th. Since my pre-op diet (aug 9th) I have lost 33lbs. The hair isn't growing like it was!!!!! I only have to pluck 3 times a week!!!!! Has this happened to anyone else?

I have been going to a new waxing/ threading place and having new stuff used rather than struggling to do it myself so I have noticed a reduction but had not connected it to my weight loss and had thought it was the result of a new beauty technician.

You have got me thinking that maybe it is from the weight loss! Yay!

I think my unwanted hair has slowed down as well... I didn't have to wax every day (probably should have though) but waxing seems to be lasting longer!

Sally Hansen Sugar Wax is the only way to go. You can get good strips from Sally Beauty Supply, and reuse that wax over and over. Cut the strips into sizes you need. I've been doing this for over 12 years. I pluck my own eyebrows, and even now, sometime my mustache hairs if they are dark and I don't have time or desire to wax.

I have pcos as well. I've been getting mine lasered off and recently purchased a machine to do it at home. It was expensive but worth every penny to not have to worry about missing a hair and being embarrassed.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
