iceshayw 4 Posted September 20, 2012 So my doc has told me to stay away from bread, but does that mean I can't have pancakes either? Whether they be Protein pancakes, whole wheat pancakes, etc? I understand having carbs often aren't beneficial to weight loss but I do need to create a sense of normalcy (sp?) in my eating and routine for the rest of my life. Thanks! PdxMan 4,292 Posted September 20, 2012 When were you sleeved? You will be able to go back to a normal diet, but it takes time. Grains swell in your stomach and early sleevers need to focus on getting basic nutrition first. Breads and grains are, for the most part, nutritionally irrelevant. With them expanding, they take up valuable stomach real estate that could be used by something that "counts". Just take your time with your progression. It will happen. You will eat normal again. 2 ALIGAYLE and AliveAgain reacted to this

beautifulnewme2012 164 Posted September 20, 2012 Thanks for your input! I appreciate it I'm only 7 weeks out but Im on all foods and have been since week 4 I am four months out. I didn't start trying to eat pancakes till month three. I can barely eat half of a small one. And I put sugar free Syrup on it. I don't eat them often. I dont stay away from carbs. I go with the everything in moderation attitude and I am doing well! 2 samsmom and Carey reacted to this
