I Hate It When People Misuse "literally"!

Recommended Posts

LOL...we all have our quirks! When I was an attendance manager' date=' at a call center, most of the reps would start out with "what had happened was..." ... and I knew to sit back and be entertained for a bit with their story telling... I wonder how much of all that was ever true <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/huh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> [/quote']

OMG, I used to work in a call center. I know exactly what you mean!!!

the manager behind me would start stories with "what had happened was..." to each other... I still keep in touch with her, and everytime I call her, that's how I start the conversation! She always knows it is ME :)

I could easily become a grammar Nazi so it's probably not a good idea for me to list all the mistakes I hear on a regular basis that drive me crazy. I don't know how anyone in this town passes English.

One spelling error that really bothers me because I see it so much is when people spell separate seperate.

Hehe, I really like this thread because I'm learning ;)

Wow, now I just hope I remember.

My memory is just as bad as my grammar.

:P

You are correct! My husband was a full blown Yankee from PA. He has been duly Southernized. His family no longer recognizes his voice on the phone. That's what a Southern Belle and country living do to you! LoL

My biggest pet peeve is when you hear professional people say, "you welcome." It's you're as in YOU ARE!!! Grrrrr. Lol. Or how about like-ded... I likeded that, it was fun!

Here's a something that really irks me: When someone states the obvious. "It's hot out here today", when indeed it is hot. That's annoying (to me).

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
