thinoneday 445 Posted September 21, 2012 My biggest irk must be from the patients I help at "the clinic" . . . most are under insured or from very low socioeconomic backgrounds. . many of them have been arrested or come to the clinic in shankles accompanied by their guards who carry guns, billyclubs, etc. . . when these patients come in, they don't see me as their caregiver, they see me as "Miss" . . . it's "Miss" this and "Miss" that. . . don't they see I'm a older woman with a ring on my left hand? Being from the deep south (SA TX) the word Ma'am is much more respectable then the dreaded "Miss". . . . . I understand they probably don't know better, but it's just a irk on my part. . . thanks for listening. . . 1 cataro reacted to this

lessofmeismore 1,405 Posted September 21, 2012 Guilty as charged lol I have always said I could care less. Now that you mention it; it really does not convey what I am meaning lol

I think in my area more people say "I could care less" than "I couldn't care less." To tell on myself I even say some slang words wrong. Around here people say "wal-ago" for "awhile ago" But me of course... at some point as a child learned "wad-ago" and it just stuck. =\ 1 lessofmeismore reacted to this

Piplula 709 Posted September 21, 2012 I detest the use of "I seen it....." when it should be "I saw it...or I have seen it" drives me up the wall!!!!! 2 Learningtotwinkle and lizv123 reacted to this
Jessica9190 127 Posted September 21, 2012 I hate it when people say "Febuary" and they mean February or "libary" and they mean library or "mines" instead of mine. I have a friend that constantly says "I have did it" and I can't help but correct her every time but I don't think she cares. 1 lizv123 reacted to this

Butterthebean 8,146 Posted September 21, 2012 My wife hates it when I use the words conversate or inbiggen. But I'm just trying to contribute to the English language by adding some new words. 1 Piplula reacted to this
ozeedonkee 145 Posted September 21, 2012 Anything that is grammatically incorrect irks me.....especially if the word ends with an 's' and someone has tried to denote ownership by adding ' 's ' OMG it, like, literally makes me wanna, you know, die. Oh! It's even worse if it's in a newspaper. 1 lessofmeismore reacted to this
