Finding The Liquid Diet Easier To Handle?

Recommended Posts

I'm 4 weeks out now and after craving and waiting and lookin forward to the day I can eat purée ...now I find that the liquid diet is just easier to handle. Like the Protein Drinks and the yogurt just feels better to me now. I just made some refried Beans and melted cheese and threw it away to eat yogurt !!! wtf!!?? it away to eat

I know what you mean I feel the same way going from clears to full liquid? I am having a hard time getting in both Protein and Water, I am constantly trying to sip water after my full feeling from 2oz of shake goes away. I think this is the best way to be as our weight loss should be good and eventually we will be able to eat everything and probably wish for these days back!

I'm two and a half months out. I can eat anything I want...but, I often find myself still mostly sticking to my Protein Shakes and other liquids rather than eating solids. I tend to eat solids too quickly and not chew enough and end up feeling uncomfortable after eating so it's just easier to stick with liquids some days.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
